Heritage Incense Events Grow, Younger Participants on the Rise

Recently, many places have held intangible-heritage events themed on incense ceremony and agarwood culture, including seated tastings, blending classes, utensil displays and lectures, some reaching communities and campuses.

Rising youth participation

Organisers report more young faces, many treating incense appreciation as cultural experience and emotional regulation. Indirect heating and pellet-making are most popular.

A path for living heritage

Insiders argue living transmission needs both systematic recording of skills and integration with contemporary life. Standardised teaching, genuine materials and a moderate threshold are key to attracting newcomers.
