Six Projects Signed as Hainan's Agarwood Industry Accelerates

On November 1, the 'Chengmai Fragrance · World of Agarwood' investment promotion conference took place in Chengmai, Hainan, gathering provincial and county officials, industry experts, and leading agarwood enterprises from across China. Six agarwood projects were signed on site, spanning financial credit, standardized planting, deep processing, warehousing support, full industrial chain development, and wellness tourism. Officials from the Hainan Forestry Bureau noted that the province is systematically improving agarwood standards, traceability and authentication systems, and brand building, while planning an international agarwood trading center under the Hainan Free Trade Port policy framework.

The Industry Report Card of 'China's Hometown of Agarwood'

Chengmai County reported that its agarwood planting area has reached 36,000 mu (about 2,400 hectares), with landmark achievements including the world's first agarwood industry college, China's first agarwood price index, and the province's first ancient agarwood tree park. Supporting policies include planting subsidies, a 2 billion yuan special credit line, and comprehensive agarwood insurance. Outside the venue, exhibitions of premium agarwood products and immersive incense-ceremony experiences allowed guests to appreciate traditional Chinese incense culture up close.
