Nanyaoxiangdu Agarwood Hub Opens in Dianbai: A "One Core, Two Wings, Four Zones" Plan for a Full-Chain Trade Platform

From a trading market to an integrated industry city

According to Nanfang Daily, the Nanyaoxiangdu project in Guanzhu Town, Dianbai District, Maoming, opened for public preview in early October. Conceived as an industry-city integration project under Dianbai's "World Capital of Incense, Romantic Dianbai" strategy, it focuses on upgrading the entire southern-medicine and agarwood chain through a "one core, two wings, four zones" layout, serving project exhibition, industry exchange and operational preparation, with the goal of becoming a two-way hub for agarwood raw materials and finished products.

Dianbai is one of China's main clusters for cultivated agarwood planting, raw material circulation and product processing. Guanzhu Town alone hosts more than 6,000 agarwood and southern-medicine businesses. Yet the local industry has long struggled with fragmented markets, weak R&D, scattered brands and missing supporting functions such as high-end research, standardized testing, international exhibitions and wellness tourism. Nanyaoxiangdu is designed differently from conventional wholesale markets: the "core" is an industry and trade zone with a large southern-medicine trading center, international convention center, incense-medicine culture plaza and brand showroom; the "east wing" hosts deep-processing laboratories, quality testing centers, smart warehousing and supply-chain platforms; the "west wing" develops wellness tourism with an agarwood museum, intangible-heritage workshops, study-tour bases and medicinal-cuisine experiences.

Two phases and what it means for the trade

The project is developed in two phases. Phase one covers 132 mu with roughly 210,000 sqm of floor area, including a southern-medicine wholesale market, exhibition and sales center, and R&D processing center, plus offices, hotel and talent apartments, with delivery expected in October 2027. Phase two covers 163 mu with logistics warehousing, innovation exhibition halls, a pharmaceutical testing and industry information center, a five-star hotel and an international exhibition center. The park is planned to connect seedling cultivation, deep processing, quality traceability, spot trading, research and innovation, livestream e-commerce, cross-border trade and cultural-wellness consumption. Located about 500 meters from the Shenhai Expressway Guanzhu exit, it links western Guangdong, the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asian markets.
