Sinking vs Floating Grades: Oil Content and Density
What "sinking" means
Density above water makes the piece sink ("sinking grade"); half-sinking and floating grades follow. Density rises with oil content.
Misconception
Oil injection can fake sinking. Density is only one reference—combine smell, oil veins and burn test.
