How agarwood forms: natural, matured and living resin
Resin formation requires injury and fungal infection, developing over years or longer. "Living" agarwood forms while the tree is alive; "matured" agarwood is collected after the tree dies and the resinous part falls or is harvested. The mode of formation affects both aroma and appearance.
